I took this picture in the Acne Studios Greene Street store. I’ve been experimenting with different silhouettes recently, and have really grown to like this look. Wearing all black removes color as the outfit’s focal point, shifting attention toward proportions, texture, and movement. Here, the wide trousers establish the silhouette, while the shirt introduces fluidity through its asymmetric draping.
This JiyongKim shirt has been one of my favorite shirts of the summer. It’s made of modal, a semi-synthetic textile derived from the natural cellulose of beech tree pulp (not to be confused with the homonymous serverless compute platform). Although it’s semi-synthetic, modal is a biodegradable, moderately sustainable fabric. Beech trees are a highly renewable source that don’t use much water, and closed-loop systems can capture/reuse 95% of the processing water.
The Prada shoes are one of my favorite black shoes I’ve ever bought. They’re really flat so it doesn’t give me much height (that’s what my Guidis are for), but they go with almost any pair of pants in my opinion. Keep in mind that Prada sizing is extremely weird - I went 2.5 sizes down!
